NO LIMIT FREE POKER TOURNEY STRATEGIES
I have always felt that normal poker games were better than tourneys. In a normal game, if you win all the money, you get to keep it. In most Poker tourneys you're lucky if you get to keep 30%. Now I'm a Poker Tourney addict, and love free rolls. I usually play in one or two big free rolls every day where the field is 1200 or more poker players. The prizes may be small, but think about beating a 1000 other Poker players. It’s a hoot and an Alpha Male thing. Plus, I get to practice for real money Poker Tourneys that do have significant prizes.
Unlike a normal game where, if you bust out, you get more money out of your pocket. In Poker Tourneys when you lose your stack, you are out. Even in Re-buy and Add-on Poker Tourneys after the final add-on, when you lose your stack, you are out. In " Tournament Poker for Advanced Players" David Sklansky suggests it this way:
"You're broke. You're done."
"They're broke. They're done."
In a Poker Tourney all the players pull against the short stacks. Every time a player busts out of the tourney, we are on seat closer to the money. Tourney Poker is about survival. You can't win if you're not there at the end. Even if you get there with a short stack, you still have a chance.
