it is now shipping World Championship Poker 2: Featuring
Howard Lederer to North American retailers. The game
is now available for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and will
arrive next month for the PlayStation Portable.
Developed by Point of View, World Championship Poker
2 features a more detailed single-player game than the
original. Now you must work your way up the ranks, starting
in your mom's basement. Once you start winning and accumulating
money, you can spend your winnings on increasingly better
pads and furnishings. Hit a losing streak, and you may
have to hock your stuff to stay in the game. The game
offers 14 varieties of poker, including Texas Hold 'em,
Five Card Draw, Seven Card Stud and Pineapple.

October 31, 2005 - Camp Fire USA, Texoma Council is
hosting a "Texas Hold 'Em for Texoma Youth" poker
night Nov. 12. The fundraiser will be held at the
Knights of Columbus Hall, 2027 South Austin Avenue in
Denison."This is something new for us as a fundraiser,"
said Sandra Ashby, Camp Administrator." Poker
is very popular and it sounds like it will be a lot
of fun. We hope the public will join us for our first
annual Texas Hold Em for Texas Youth' poker
night. Not only will it be a fun night, but it will
benefit the area's children as well. You just can't
lose by being a part of this!"All poker
proceeds from the $50 buy-in will benefit Camp Fire
USA's youth programs such as "Baby Think It Over," club
programming and outdoor education for Texoma youth.

October 28, 2005 - The newest event on the poker
horizon is the Poker
Millionaire Challenge. The inaugural poker
tournament is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas
from April 21-28, 2006. The Poker
Millionaire Challenge is offering freeroll satellites
through an online poker room.Apparently a number of
poker professionals
are on board to attend the PMC including Daniel Negreanu,
Kathy Liebert, Annie Duke, Andy Bloch, Evelyn Ng, and
TJ Cloutier, among others.The prize pool for the inaugural
tournament is estimated at $2.5 million dollars.
